Motorcycle Taxi Driver Killed in Min Ywa village, Mawlamyine

A motorcycle taxi driver was killed and his wallet, mobile phone and motorcycle were stolen from a rubber plantation in front of the Sports Science, Min Ywa Village, Mawlamyine Township around 9 am on April 25.

The victim was identified as Ko Kyaw Kyaw Htoo, 32, a motorcyclist from Hlaing Ward, Mawlamyine Township, South Shan State.

“At about 9 o'clock, his wife phoned her husband, but someone else was using the husband's phone. When she called again, the phone was turned off. Later, we heard the news," said U Kyaw Kyaw Htoo, a motorbike taxi driver.

Ko Kyaw Kyaw Htoo was a taxi driver from Htaw Mae Pa Motorcycle Taxi Line.

The stolen motorcycle is a new Wave - NCX 110 model and no license plate had yet been issued.

Ko Kyaw Kyaw Htoo is survived by his wife and a child.

The victim was first taken to Mawlamyine General Hospital by the Bo Bo Win Emergency Relief Team and then subsequently his body was taken to the morgue.
