Five villagers killed, village torched in Launglon’s lower Kyaukwut village

Regime troops stormed lower Kyaukwut village in Tanintharyi Region’s Launglon Township, arresting and killing five soldiers, and torching the village, the residents told Than Lwin Times.

On March 4, at around 9:00 am, a force of more than 50 troops entered Lower Kyaukwut village from Kyaukni Kyaukmaw village, arrested the villagers, killed them, and burned their homes.

The junta army arrested six villagers of lower Kyaukwut and shot them dead in the village’s soccer field, five of them died on the spot, and the other one is in critical condition, a local said.

After that, the soldiers reportedly left for the Kyauk Ni Kyauk Maw village tract.

The military council’s arson attack destroyed at least three houses in lower Kyaukwut village.

On March 2, a clash broke out between the regime army and the People’s Defense Force (PDF) near lower Kyaukwut, and the next day, the junta troops entered lower Kyaukawut village, arresting and killing the residents and burning their homes.

The Launglon PDF reported that the battle claimed three junta soldiers, and a gun and some related items were confiscated.
