Computer Shop Owner Shot Dead in Three Pagodas Pass

U Min Min, the owner of Min Min Computer Shop, was shot dead on 13 January.

The murder took place near the Yadanar Theik Junction forest office in ward 4 of Dona Road, Three Pagoda Pass which is located on the Thai-Burmese border.

An unidentified gunman shot and killed Min Min while he was sitting in front of his barracks, according to the Three Pagodas City Police Station.

“An inspection was carried out. The bullets were found, but it was not immediately clear who fired the shots.” reported  an official from the police station.

U Min Min  was shot seven times in the chest and died on the spot. The body was taken to Three Pagodas People’s Hospital.

No culprit has been arrested to date.

Social media posts were quick to suggest that what appears to be an unprovoked shooting may be linked to someone being a military informant.  There has been no evidence released to support this accusation.
