Telephone lines except Mytel cut in Kani and Minkin townships

A member of Kani People's Defense Force told Mizzima that the military council has cut off all telephone lines except Mytel in Kani and Minkin townships in Sagaing for the past four days.

Mytel has never been used by anyone before. Only MPT and Ooredoo are used there. Now, Mytel cards have to be substituted

When Mizzima contacted locals in the villages of Kani and Minkin Townships, the rest of the phone lines were out of service and only Mytel could be used.

According to a local resident, telephone lines have not been available in Inpaw, Seywa Chaung and inland areas where the military are currently operating.

Locals are worried that the council will commit serious crimes hiding behind cut-off telephone lines.
