More election posters have been destroyed and vandalised in Arakan State, most recently an Arakan Patriotic Party (APP) poster in the state capital Sittwe was torn down on 24 September.

U Maung Khin Tun, the APP Sittwe Office chief said that he saw the vandalised APP posters on the road between Sittwe General Hospital and the new clock tower at around noon on 24 September. Earlier that day, at 8.30am he had seen the posters were still intact.

The APP has already lodged a complaint with Sittwe Police Station and sent copies of the complaint to the city election commissioner.

Also, on 22 September, an Arakan National Party (ANP) poster was vandalised at Anouk Your Village in Ann Township, Arakan State.

U Zaw Minn, the joint secretary of the ANP’s Ann Township committee said: "We lodged a complaint about the incident at Anouk Your Police Station the next day [23 September]."

Previously, in February, ANP posters and Chin National League for Democracy (CNLD) posters were vandalised in Paday Gyaw Village of Hmor Village Tract in Ann Township.
