More election posters have been destroyed and vandalised in Arakan State, most recently an Arakan Patriotic Party (APP) poster in the state capital Sittwe was torn down on 24 September.

U Maung Khin Tun, the APP Sittwe Office chief said that he saw the vandalised APP posters on the road between Sittwe General Hospital and the new clock tower at around noon on 24 September. Earlier that day, at 8.30am he had seen the posters were still intact.

The APP has already lodged a complaint with Sittwe Police Station and sent copies of the complaint to the city election commissioner.
