According to the Board of Trustees, approximately  2,000 domestic and foreign tourists visited the Kyaik Htee Yoe Pagoda in Kyaikto Township last August.

The number of tourists decreased in August compared to the previous months, according to U Soe Hla, the leader of the Kyaik Htee Yoe Board of Trustees.

"This month’s numbers decreased. In July, about 7,460 people visited. In June, 6,908 people came. The most popular period is April.   88,272 people came in April of this year," he said.

He added that foreign tourists are mainly from Thailand, and this year there have been no visitors from Europe.

According to the Board of Trustees, the Kyaik Htee Yoe mountain can be visited even when it is not the festival season. It is easy for tourists to  arrange accommodation and meals.

The Board  has agreed to undertake measures to attract more tourists.

One vendor from Kyaik Htee Yoe mountain explained,  "Now preparations are being made on the mountain. They were instructed to renovate the guesthouses and restaurants, " he said.
