The Second Mon Political Conference has established 21-member Mon National Representative Party Organizing Committee and 27-member National Advisory Committee on the last day of the conference, according to deputy leader Dr Aung Naing Oo.

The 21-member committee is led by Nai Ta La Nyi as leader and Dr Aung Naing Oo as deputy leader and its members include Dr Min Soe Linn, Nai Ye Zaw, Nai Mon Yarzar, Mi Su, Mi Sandar Non, and Mi Kyal Lai.

“We need to register the party and submit the party constitution which has been approved by the conference, to the Union Election Commission,” he said.

However, Min Nyan Sike Yar Mar, who took notes during the conference, said the 21-member committee will officially register the Mon representative party and implement it in a suitable time under the supervision of the 27-member advisory committee.

“It has been decided for the 27-member advisory committee to act as a judge in the discussion between the two Mon parties (MNP and AMDP) and the 21-member organizing committee,” he said.

Although the conference has decided on six points, the most important points are to approve the constitution for the Mon representative party, approve the 21-member committee for organizing the Mon national representative party, approve the 27-member national advisory committee, and for the 21-member committee to implement the Mon national party under the supervision of the 27-member advisory committee when discussing with political parties.

Around 600 participants including prominent Mon monks, Mon political groups, literature and culture association, artists, civil society organizations, youth groups, Mon women and special invited guest attended the last day of the conference.
