Mawlamyine Township Police Office Bombed: Civilians and police suffer injuries

The Police office located on the mountain road, in Mawlamyine Township, in Mon State, was the target of a hand grenade attack. The grenade exploded  at around 10:00 am on August 4.

The Police office compound includes housing/accomodations space for police as well as their offices. According to a person close to the security forces, some police personnel were injured from the grenade explosion, but the number or nature of injuries is not yet known..

At least one police member  and a civilian were taken to Mawlamyine Public Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Vehicles travelling along the Mawlamyine mountain road pass were searched following the incident.

On July 27, there was another  incident involving the use of grenades on the Mon State Hluttaw police guard.
