Village Amin Officer extorts money in Maungdaw south

U Tin Maung, a Rakhine community, the Udaung village admin officer extorted kyats 600,000 from two Rohingya villagers – brother and sister- for argument of heir-land to settle their belonging land recently, said Anwar, an elder from nearby village.

The victims were identified as--- Siraz Ullah (40), son of late Shidar Ali and his elder sister Hamida Begum (50), hailed from Udaung village under the Myient Hlut village tract of Maungdaw township, he more added.
 
There was a conflict between Siraz Ullah and his elder sister Ms Hamida Begum regarding with one-acre of heir-land of their parents. Regarding the matter, Ms Hamida approached to U Tin Maung to give judgment or decision against her younger brother Siraz Ullah, according to Ahmed Meah, an elder from village.
 
Her brother wants to give his sister half an acre of her heir land but she wanted one-acre of her heir land from her younger brother.  According to their father's will, she is able to get one-acre of land, Ahmed Meah more added.
 
However, U Tin Maung took Kyat 200,000 from Ms Hamida and Kyat 400,000 from Siraz Ullah for judgment or decision. He did not do anything against Siraz Ullah. But, it was not a good judgment from the Rakhine Admin officer, said Habib Ullah, another villager from the locality.
