Twelve people, including five children, were killed, and 21 more, including three children, were injured in the junta's airstrike on Mrauk U yesterday.

U Khaing Thukha, a spokesman for the ULA/AA, verified that a house in Daikyi Ward, Aung Tat Group, Mrauk-U Township, that was being used as a religious charity, was bombed, killing twelve people, including five children.

Twenty-one persons, three of whom were youngsters, were hurt, and eight houses were destroyed.

At about 11:30 p.m. last night, the terrorist airstrikes dropped a 500-pound bomb from a jet fighter.

As the wounded are still alive, there are worries that more individuals may suffer severe injuries.

"A terrorist airstrike inadvertently detonated a bomb while people were sleeping, murdering 12 who were asleep," a local resident close to the scene told Narinjara News.

Six members of one family had died, according to another resident.

"It was time for everyone to go to bed. We couldn't hear anything because the wind was howling. We were unable to flee as the jets approached. Now the families are the ones who are dying," he said.
