According to local residents, at least 8 villages in the region are facing transportation difficulties after the destruction of the bridge between Kyaungywa Village and Aingshey Village in Ye Township, Mon State.

On March 15th, in the west of Kyaungywa Village, Ye Township, the Blue Group shot at a civilian car, in response the military council closed the road between Kyaungywa Village and SonePaDot Village.  Then the village Administration was ordered to destroy the Kyaungywa-Aingshey Village link, aka Bamboo bridge.

Because of frequent shootings and inspections residents are fearful of using  the Ye Bridge Road, instead they were using the Bamboo Bridge.

“SonePaDot and Kyaungywa roads are also closed. The bridge on the other side was demolished. Currently, there is only one road, LatePop Road and Ye Road, so it is difficult to get around. The people of the village are in trouble because they have to cross the

creek," said a resident of the village.

At least 10 villages including Kanni, Hpalanchaungwa, Kinetaw, Aingshey, Yitchaung, Dhammaparla, old Kyaunglong village are now facing  difficulties transporting food.

The military council's actions are intended to prevent the Peoples’ Defense Forces (PDF)  from passing through Ye township.
