Bangladesh Navy Seizes Myanmar-Made Weapons and Methamphetamine in Teknaf

The Bangladesh Navy seized a cache of Myanmar-made weapons, ammunition, and methamphetamine pills during a targeted raid in the border town of Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar, on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was carried out by two specially trained teams, including Navy special forces, in the Flower Dale area.

The raid followed confidential intelligence regarding criminal activity in the sub-district.

The seized arsenal included two G3 rifles, one MA-1 rifle, eight magazines, 190 rounds of live ammunition, and 10 blank cartridges. Additionally, security forces recovered 28,000 "Yaba" (methamphetamine) tablets.

One suspect, identified as M. Delwar Hussain—reportedly an aide to a known individual named Butu Saiful—was arrested at the scene.

Following the operation, the suspect and the seized items were handed over to the relevant local authorities for legal processing.

The Navy confirmed that these regular operations are part of an ongoing crackdown to dismantle terrorist networks and criminal elements operating along the border.
