Ayeyarwaddy Times reporter re- arrested

Aung Mya Than, a correspondent for the Ayeyarwaddy Times, a news agency based on the Ayeyarwaddy (Irrawaddy) region, was released from Pathein Prison on June 30 along with 52 other detainees.

However, he was re-arrested on the night of July 10 by Military forces.

"Aung Mya Than had only been released for 10 days. He was arrested by the military junta . . . We do not know why he was arrested again. [We] heard that he is currently at the Maubin police station," said an editor at the Ayeyarwaddy Times.
