Buthidaung, the town in the westernmost part of the country, has been provided electricity through national power grid for twenty-four hours starting on 30 October, according to the inhabitants. The 24-hour electric power-supplies start delivering to wards in the Buthidaung township since in the evening of 30 October, as said by U Moe Thyra who is the township electrical engineer.

“The power supplies started distributing since [yesterday] evening. The whole town has been enjoying lights,” U Moe Thyra said.

There are altogether seven wards in Buthidaung town and every ward has been receiving the electrical power, according to the town-dwellers.

“We’re now going well with electric power. We’re happy as electricity comes to us. We hope, the region will be more developed than ever due to the power supply,” U Ahphyu Maung told Narinjara News.

Although Narinjara wants to know the detail situation of power delivering to the villages in Buthidaung Township, Narinjara could not have chance meeting with U Moe Thyra, the township electrical engineer, as he was busy with meetings.

In Rakhine State, apart from the Maungdaw and Man-aung, all other towns have been enjoying 24-hour electricity supplies providing through national power grid.
