The military council in Mon State sealed off more than 80 local residences following the military coup, including those of National League for Democracy (NLD) members and those connected to politics, according to data compiled by Than Lwin Times.

More than 40 homes in the Thaton district and more than 40 homes in the Mawlamyine district are among the sealed homes.

Some of them, in addition to their homes, their shops and other buildings have also been sealed off, while the military council did not confiscate some people's homes, but only closed some of their commercial facilities.

Within 19 months of the military coup, the homes of people affiliated with the National League for Democracy (NLD), National Unity Government (NUG), Committee Representing Pyidaungsu Hluttaw Representative Committee (CRPH) and People's Defense Force (PDF) in Mon State were sealed off by the military council for various reasons.

The majority of those ,whose homes were sealed off, have been charged with terrorism, affiliation with illegal groups, treason, and sedition; however, some have not been prosecuted at all.
