The coup leader has bestowed on himself for his supposed excellent contribution to the country's and people's interests during the 75 years since Myanmar’s Independence.

Myint Swe, the Acting President, was also given the title of Thadoe Thiri Thudhamma, along with the coup leader.

In addition, former Prime Ministers U Sein Lwin and U Maung Maung Kha, General Thura Kyaw Htin (Retired) were presented the honorary titles of Thadoe Maha Thray Sithu along with military leader Min Aung Hlaing and interim President U Myint Swe.

"Rewarding himself is too much. He is no longer ashamed. It's time to be ashamed of what he is doing,” an 88-generation alumnus of political analyst told The Than Lwin Times.

The highest badge, Agga Maha Thiri Thudhamma, was awarded to former Prime Minister U Nu, former President U San Yu and former coup leader Sr. Gen. Saw Maung.

Ne Win and Than Shwe, two more military leaders, were also awarded the title of Agga Maha Thray Sithu.

The coup leader bestowed 17 kinds of honorary titles and medals on his loved ones on the first day of the Myanmar New Year.
