Three Northern Alliances have suggested that they will have to resort to do what they should do “as an alliance” if the Myanmar Army keeps launching offensive operations against the AA, they said in a statement announced on April 24.

In an emergency meeting with top leaders of the military and political alliances MNDAA, TNLA and AA on April 20 and 21, discussed the real situation of the peace process, current military and political affairs and the Tatmadaw’s offensive operations to root out the AA, and they made some resolutions, the statement said.

The indifference of the NLD government to the offensive operations of the Tatmadaw in Rakhine State is not acceptable situation, it said.

The three Northern Alliances said that the Tatmadaw’s unilateral four-month ceasefire proclamation will expire on April 30, and they concluded that the Myanmar Army did not have the proper justification if it declares a new cease-fire without involving Rakhine State the next time.

On March 19 they announced that the Tatmadaw needed to start negotiations and to stop offensive operations against the AA.

This time, they called for Chinese intervention to bring about the peacemaking process quickly and said that they were ready to seek a solution through a political dialogue under political leadership of the FPNCC.
