Two bodies found in Maungdaw south

Two dead bodies with several stab wounds were found by villagers at Thawin Chaung Village on May 5, according to a local resident.

The victims were identified as madrasa student Arafat Hussain, 17, and a driver named Armat Ullah, 19. Both were from Thawin Chaung Village, said Mohin, a Rohingya villager from Maungdaw south.

The villagers informed the local police station. Police sent the two bodies to the hospital and opened an investigation, a police source told Kaladan News.

The two teenagers were believed to have been killed on the evening of May 4 by a group of robbers. The villagers said a gang of robbers from Teknaf, in neighboring Bangladesh, has been terrorizing the local residents and shot and wounded another man in April.
