The Maungdaw Township Administration officer – U Hla Myint instructed all village admin officers to keep law and order in their villages at the meeting in township admin office hall on last week of August, according to Halim, a Human rights watchdog from Maungdaw.
U Hla Myint instructed the village admin officers to be alert in the villages and follow the laws and orders of present government, Halim said.
The Township admin officer – U Hla Myint more said in the meeting, not to teach Arabic language in Moqtabs – religious teaching schools or houses; not to link with the people who live in abroad and unknown persons; don’t allow to stay in the village who were cancelled from family list, said a village admin officer who participated in the meeting.
If anyone does not follow the law and order (rules and regulations) of the concerned authority, he/she will be punished according to the law, the officer ordered in the meeting, participant further said.
The Udaung village admin officer U Tin Maung – A Rakhine community- held a meeting with villagers, religious leaders and Iman-leading person of mosques - to discuss about the instruction of Maungdaw Township administration officer and took signatures from all the participants as they will follow the law and order of concerned authority, said Nur Bosher, an elder from the village.
In similar way, Syed Alam- the Khonzabill village admin officer also held a meeting with village elders to inform the instruction of Maungdaw Township admin officer recently, Refan, a student from the village said.
