500 Resistance Fighters Martyred in Karenni State Since The Coup

The Progressive Karenni People Force (PKPF) reported on April 1 that 515 resistance fighters had been killed from 2021-2024, marking the duration of the armed resistance movement in Karenni State triggered by the military coup.

A PKPF official informed Kantarawaddy Times that the casualties listed comprised resistance forces who perished in clashes in Mongpai (Mobye), Pekon, and southern Shan State.

"We have compiled the list of resistance fighters who lost their lives in the battles in Monpai and Pekon as well as around Hsihseng in southern Shan State”, he said.

The fallen comrades belonged to the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF), the Karenni Army (KA), and the People's Defense Force (PDF).

As per PKPF's statement, over the course of the three-year revolution, there were 1041 skirmishes recorded in Karenni State, and the Junta conducted 1404 airstrikes.
