On February 25th, Mon National Day, the New Mon State Party - Anti-Dictatorship (NMSP-AD) declared its commitment to join forces with other resistance groups and armed factions engaged in the Spring Revolution until the complete overthrow of the military dictatorship.

NMSP-AD asserted that the protection of the people and the establishment of a federal democracy, ensuring full equality and self-determination, can only be achieved by confronting and attacking the Junta and the military dictatorship that have unlawfully seized power, along with any other forms of dictatorship.

After  the 11th conference of the  New Mon State Mon Party resolved to maintain its policy of truce with the Junta under the Bilateral Ceasefire Agreement of 2012,some party leaders

opposed to this policy broke away from the party to emerge as an anti-Junta force, declaring its intent on February 14th to actively combat the military dictatorship forming the NMSP-AD.

NMSP-AD, in reiterating its resumption of armed resistance, emphasized that this stance is unwavering, and will not be swayed by any form of external pressure, as it is firmly grounded in the collective will of the Mon people, both within the country and beyond its borders.

NMSP-AD also called upon the Mon people to unite with courage and perseverance to swiftly eradicate the military dictatorship.

In a significant development, on February 22nd, NMSP-AD convened with the National Unity Government (NUG) and mutually agreed to collaborate as strong allies in the ongoing revolution.
