Military Strengthens its Forces After KIA and KPDF Capture Saparkone Military Camp

Following the capture of the Saparkone military camp (local name) in the eastern ridge of Sarhmaw, Mogaung Township, Kachin State, by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People's Defense Force (PDF), residents report that the military is actively strengthening its presence in Sarhmaw.

On November 10, at 6:00 a.m., members of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and the People's Defense Force (PDF) initiated an attack on the Saparkone military camp, successfully capturing it by 12:00 p.m. on November 11. Simultaneously, the Mogaung People's Defense Force reported drone attacks on the Infantry Battalion 105 camp and the militia checkpoint at the entrance of Sarhmaw village.

A resident of Sarhmaw reported that the military has strengthened its presence following the attack on the Infantry Battalion 105 camp near Sarhmaw village on November 11. The incident resulted in serious injuries to a military officer, a private-rank soldier, and four others, including three Pyu Saw Htee militiamen.

"In Sarhmaw, the Military Council dispatched three vehicles and approximately 60 troops to the 105th Battalion yesterday at 1:00 p.m. Following the drone attack on the camp, artillery shells were fired at the eastern side of Sarhmaw every half an hour or an hour from the night of the 11th to the 12th.
