A resident informed KNG that the Military Council troops stationed in Ywarthargyi village fired artillery shells and small arms when conducting military operations towards Thamayoe village around 4:00 a.m. on July 6th.

"They set up camp in Ywarthargyi village and rested for the night. At 4 am military operations commenced, while vendors began their morning sales at 5 am. Gunfire erupted near Thamayoe village, resulting in the tragic loss of life as the vendors were shot and killed on the spot," said the resident.

Seven civilians, including women vendors, were killed near Thamayoe village, Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, as a result of artillery shells and small arms fire by Military Council troops.

According to an official from The Association of Accurate Information (Wetlet), the local vendors who travel on three-wheel motorcycles to sell their goods in Shwepankone Village every day are from Thamayoe Village and Kadoekaing Village.

Following the incident, an official from The Association of Accurate Information (Wetlet) reported that the military column further perpetrated the abduction of 14 local residents from Thamayoe village, taking them as hostages before departing from the area.

"At approximately 7 am, 14 men from Thamayoe village were apprehended and transported to Ngwetwin village in Ayadaw township. Upon their arrival at Ngwetwin village, 13 individuals were subsequently released, while one individual remains in custody to this day. This column refers to the same group that departed from Shwebo Township on July 5," said a PDF member.

On July 5, the People's Defense Force (PDF) launched an attack on Ngwetwin village in Ayadaw Township, claiming the lives of several civilians, alongside casualties among the Pyu Saw Htee militias and Military Council troops.

The victims who tragically lost their lives in the shooting on July 6th were identified as Daw Hnin Hlaing (50), Daw Aye Nu Win (40), Daw Mway Li (40), U Phoe Lwin (50), and U Thein Hlaing (60) from Thamayoe village. Additionally, Daw Phyu (40) from Kadoekaing village and Ko Moe Wai (30) from Shwepankone village were among those who perished
