Villager hit by artillery during fighting in Kyauktaw Township

Khaing Roe La — A villager who received severe injuries by gunfire during the attack on six vessels including a military boat in Kyauktaw Township, has been transferred from Sittwe hospital to Yangon hospital on 24 November.

 

U Tun Hla Sein from Kathittaw village was hit by shrapnel on his left leg, it was almost blown off, according to his family members.

 

“We have to go to Yangon because his injury is severe,” Daw Aye Phyu said.

 

The Arakan Army attacked six vessels including the Myanmar navy near Pi Kauk Wa village in Kyauktaw Township on 22 November, two men from Kathittaw village were injured during the volley of gunfire.

 

Of the two injured people, U Tun Hla Sein received serious injuries and family members are concerned.

 

The Tatmadaw and the AA are blaming each other for the incident.
