Victory Depends on Forging Alliances, Says NUG Acting President

The Acting President of the National Unity Government (NUG), Duwa Lashi La, stated that the success of the resistance war heavily relies on their capacity to establish alliances.

Acting President Duwa Lashi La made this statement during the 28th cabinet meeting of the National Unity Government (NUG) in 2023, which took place on August 22.

"The crucial factor lies in the capability to establish alliances. Throughout the Spring Revolution, we systematically forged partnerships with ethnic armed organizations in accordance with the Federal Democratic Agreement," he said.

"We can only move forward in unity by eradicating the military dictatorship with both our left and right feet being synchronized. The journey of the people's revolution and the path of the armed revolution must be intertwined and not isolated from each other. It's vital to delicately merge these approaches. We should recognize that the people's revolution and the armed resistance are not adversaries, but allies. The people's revolution should uphold the armed resistance, and the armed revolution should uphold the people's revolution,” he continued.

The acting president added,” Strengthening these alliances is imperative. I'd like to underscore that the triumph of the resistance war hinges on our ability to create effective military alliances."

Until the present moment, the NUG may have established military and political alliances with ethnic armed organizations to a certain extent. However, specific details regarding the armed organizations with which alliances have been formed have not been disclosed in detail. In the aftermath of the military coup, certain armed organizations in the ethnic states where conflicts are ongoing have publicly stated their alliance in both military and political aspects with the NUG government.

At present, the People's Defense Forces (PDF) established by the NUG government and the ethnic armed organizations are engaged in military clashes against the military council troops. Simultaneously they are also collaborating politically on the global stage and employing diverse strategies to combat and eliminate the military dictatorship.
