Thandwe People's Defense Force (TPDF) has formed in Thandwe Township, in Rakhine State, according to its statement.

Political forces that should be involved and comrades fighting against the Military Council are making coordination and formed the force on June 7, according to the statement that issued on June 7.

The statement mentioned that it was formed with four purposes, "To eradicate the Military Dictatorship and quickly establish a Federal Democratic Union, to carry out effective revolutionary clashes with other revolutionary forces in Rakhine State, to systematically protect the lives and property of the people in Thandwe Township and to organize military clashes systematically and a balanced politic by communicating with the Ethnic Armed Organization, CRPH, and NUG which are fighting against the Terrorist Military Council”.

Attempts have made to interview with Thandwe People's Defense Force (TPDF) regarding the formation of the force, but could not be reached.
