Robbers Shoot Money Changers In Muse

Armed men shot and injured two money changers during a robbery in Muse, on the border with China, in northern Shan State.

On Monday evening, as they were about to leave, five unknown men in a Toyota Alphard came to rob them, a man said. He told SHAN the Chinese-Burmese couple had been exchanging money next to the clock tower in the border town for a long time.

Since the coup on 1 February, there have been many robberies in Muse, but the authorities never arrest the criminals.

Because of the political instability the man said hardly anyone leaves their homes anymore.
