Early reports suggest that an internally displaced person (IDP) lost their life, while two others, one of whom is a child, sustained injuries due to an artillery shell explosion in Moe Sai Kyun, located in Rathedaung Township, approximately 20 miles north of Sittwe, the capital of Arakan (Rakhine) State.

It is reported that the deceased and injured individuals are internally displaced persons from Kyet Yoe Seik Village.

On the morning of September 29, the Padaleik Battalion, part of the Sittwe-based terrorist army, launched artillery shells into Rathedaung Township, which is under the control of the Arakan Army (AA). According to a local resident, several of these shells fell in Kyet Yoe Seik Village, as reported by Narinjara.

“Since this morning, artillery shells have been consistently launched. They have landed in Kyet Yoe Seik village. To the best of our knowledge, one individual was killed. The individual who has passed away is a male. Two individuals are injured. They are children," he stated.

Aside from the loss of life, several homes have been damaged as well. Additionally, surveillance aircraft continue to fly over certain villages close to Kyet Yoe Seik village, causing residents to evacuate.

Up until this evening, it has been reported that battalions located in Sittwe and navy vessels are using heavy artillery against Rathedaung Township.

“Four or five homes have been ruined. They continue to be shot at. The individuals are experiencing unrest. They are not safe in any location," he stated.

The battalions in Sittwe, which remain under the regime's control, along with the battalions and navy vessels stationed outside the city, have been bombarding continuously in recent days.

Residents reported that they are launching rockets every day, aiming at the outskirts of the city and the AA-controlled townships of Rathedaung, Pauktaw, and Ponnagyun, which include Thandwe, Taungup, Paletwa, and Rathedaung, all of which are under AA control.

Since the last week of September, the terrorist army has been conducting airstrikes and using heavy weapons to bombard AA-controlled towns in Rakhine, including Thandwe, Taungup, Paletwa, and Rathedaung, resulting in civilian casualties and injuries.
