Next round of Union peace talks to be held in January

State Counsellor, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Chairperson of the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre gave a welcoming speech at the 6th Joint Implementation Coordination Meeting on Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement-NCA yesterday at the NRPC in Nay Pyi Taw, state media reported on 28 November 2017.

The JICM meeting confirmed a report from the Implementation Coordination Meeting on NCA and decided to hold national level political discussions of Restoration Council of Shan State in Langkho (Linkhay) town, Shan State in January and to continue efforts for Arakan Liberation Party to conduct national level political discussion.

It was also decided to hold the Union Peace Conference – 21st Century Panglong third meeting in the last week of January.
