An emergency session of Tanintharyi Region Legislative Assembly convened on March 22 in the morning approved the appointment of acting Chief Minister of the Region and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Conservation Myint Maung as Chief Minister of the region government.

At this emergency session, all legislators unanimously approved the appointment of region government’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Conservation Myint Maung as Chief Minister of the region government as per the paragraph 48 of 2013 Region Legislative Assembly Rule.

Myint Maung replaces Daw Lei Lei Maw, who was arrested on corruption charges earlier in the month
