Myanmar and ROK sign MoU on cultural development

The Department of Archaeology and National Museum, under the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, and the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism signed an agreement for cultural development in Myanmar, state media reported.

The Director-General of the Department of Archaeology and National Museum, U Kyaw Oo Lwin, and the Vice Chairman of the Asian Culture Centre for Republic of Korea Mr. Kim Ho Kyum signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop master plan for cultural development in Myanmar, at the Mini Theatre of the National Museum in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture is making efforts to protect, preserve, and accumulate knowledge of Myanmar’s cultural heritage to teach future generations, to cherish and value it, and also raise the spirit of nationalism, said the Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Kyi Min.  The ministry has also laid down policies to safeguard, conserve, and promote Myanmar’s cultural heritage and customs in the interests of the country and the people, he added.
