Mon National Education Seminar commences today

The Mon National Education Seminar, led by Mon National Education Committee (MNEC), started its two-day seminar today, in Lamaing Town, Ye Township, southern Mon State.

The seminar attracted over 200 representatives, including UNICEF staff members as well as Mon activists, experts and prominent Mon monks from Mon communities across Mon State, Burma and abroad.

Nai Htaw Mon, the chairman of the New Mon State Party (NMSP) delivered the initial speech at the opening ceremony of the seminar. Following was Sayar Daw Dhatu Marlar’s presentation and Sayar Daw Banyar Gru also welcomed the participants.

MNEC’s chairperson Nai Banyar Lae spoke about the seminar’s objective and educational roadmap, while MNEC’s Mi Karat Non explained the MNEC’s educational projects and fundraising for said projects.

The seminar is held over two days from December 17 to 18.
