The Mon State approved a flag depicting a golden hamsa on red background without any text as the Mon State flag on June 8.

During the parliamentary session in the Mon State Hluttaw, the MPs discussed the issue based on the votes the public has made in the media.

The Mon State Chief Minister asked the parliament to approve the flag depicting a golden hamsa with red color background as the Mon State flag since it has been supported by the public.

He said he will take responsibility for all the pros and cons caused by the flag.

The approved flag is six feet long and four feet wide. The background color is red and a golden male hamsa is located in the center.
