Mon Federal Council Welcomes Those Fleeing Dictatorship

The Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) has commenced accepting youths and civilians wishing to escape from diverse political repression. According to MSFC official Mi Thaw Ta Zin, her organization is presently verifying the personal details of individuals reaching out to MSFC and placing them in appropriate fields, including education, employment, and armed revolution.

"Those who contact us are expected to come to our designated locations with their own plans. We will then inquire about their personal information and aspirations.

After a temporary stay of approximately one week, they will be transported to sectors such as education, employment, and armed revolution in the liberated areas, according to their preferences”, she told IMNA.

However MSFC cannot assist those seeking refuge in the territory of neighbouring Thailand.

She further explained that following the Junta's enforcement of the conscription law, the lives of the youth became increasingly insecure, prompting their parents to reach out to MSFC for assistance, leading to the implementation of the program.

"Although we lack sufficient resources, we cannot ignore the urgent pleas of parents seeking assistance. This issue concerns the youth and our future, making it imperative for us to provide help”, she added.

MSFC also stands behind the decision of young individuals who opt not to adhere to the Junta's conscription law and endeavor to leave.

On February 24th, it was announced that individuals seeking refuge from the Junta's conscription law or military conflicts and wishing to relocate to liberated areas may contact MSFC via phone, with the contact numbers provided.

During the post-coup period, the MSFC stands out as a revolutionary organization representing the Mon people and Mon State among the resistance forces against the Junta.

SFC primarily offers effective assistance to schools in conflict zones, women and children displaced by war, and individuals injured by shelling strikes.
