Moe Moe Suu Kyi nominated as Immigration and HR Minister

Yangon Region government Chief Minister nominated Moe Moe Suu Kyi as the minister in the newly created Immigration and Human Resources Ministry.

Yangon Region government Chief Minister Phyo Min Thein nominated her name at Region legislative assembly session convened on July 1.

Yangon Region assembly legislator Than Naing Oo from Pabedan constituency (1) said that this new ministry would handle citizenship cases regarding immigration affairs, a training school for workers and placement for workers.

“Even with citizens, some are not recognized as citizen though they are Myanmar nationals. There are many people who don’t have national IDs and other documents, some don’t have household registration etc.,” he said.

Moe Moe Suu Kyi is from Mayangon constituency (2) and is currently serving as secretary of the Government’s Guarantees, Pledges and Undertaking Vetting and Parliament Rights Affairs Committee in Yangon Legislative Assembly.

Confirmation of the nomination will be made at Yangon Region Legislative Assembly session.
