Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been alert and giving tight security along the Bangladesh- Burma border following attacks three Burma border guard police(BGP) camps including BGP headquarters in Maungdaw – the border town of Burma-Bangladesh border from Burma- on October 9 by unidentified assailants, according to BGB officials.

After the incident, the engine boat and the overland communication between Teknaf land port and Maungdaw transit points were closed and Bangladesh border guards have stepped up patrols, the officials more added.
 
Teknaf BGB commanding officer Lt Col Abujar Al Zahid said, after hearing gunfire at night in Maungdaw, the BGB contacted with Burma Border Guard Police (BGP) through an interpreter. The BGP has also informed to BGB officer over telephone that some of their outposts were attacked by unidentified assailants and requested to BGB , not to allow to enter the Bangladesh.
 
Teknaf BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Abujar Al Zahid also said, “We have to know what is happening in Arakan State and we are alert at the border after the incident.”
 
The Burmese and Bangladesh goods and the passengers of both countries had to come off since the incident, the Teknaf port officer Abdul Monnan said.

Most of Rohingya who came Bangladesh for medical treatment were stranded in Bangladesh, waiting for boat to go to Burma at Teknaf land port. No one helping the stranded Rohingya in Teknaf land port, said Kamal, a stranded Rohingya in Teknaf land port.
