Junta troops raid Launglon PDF camp

A large force of junta soldiers raided the Launglon People's Defence Force (LLPDF) camp in Launglon Township in Tanintharyi Region's Dawei District on 30 June.

Most of the LLPDF members were able to retreat from the camp to a place of safety, but one member was injured, another was arrested and equipment, weapons, and ammunition were confiscated, according to a statement issued by the LLPDF on 4 July.

It also said that informants told junta troops the location of the camp.

An LLPDF member said: “They came to our camp suddenly so we didn't have a chance to take anything. We just ran for our lives and withdrew safely, but one of our members was captured by the Junta.”

The junta troops confiscated small arms, heavy weapons, bullets, homemade mines and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), computers, uniforms and many other valuable items, according to the LLPDF statement.
