General Aung San to appear on Kyat-500 banknotes

Myanmar, will introduce the image of independence leader General Aung San on Kyat-500 banknotes on July 19 (Martyrs’ Day), the Central Bank of Myanmar (CBM) announced on June 18.



The size of the new banknotes will be 150 mm in length and 70 mm in width.



The CBM also announced that the existing Kyat-500 banknotes will remain legal.





The country re-introduced the image of General Aung San on Kyat-1,000 banknotes on January 4 (Independence Day) this year.
