Four Yangon court buildings bombed

The Yangon Region People's Brigade People's Defence Force (PDF) group exploded bombs at four court buildings in Yangon on 28 June.

The Yangon Region People's Brigade said that the attacks were the first in its 'Justice Lady Mission,' offensive against court buildings in Yangon.

They detonated bombs at Mayangone Court, East Dagon Township Judge's Office, South Okkalapa Township Court and Eastern Yangon District Court, on 28 June.

The group said the attacks were in retaliation to the mass arrests of civilians and the prosecution and illegal detention in jail of State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi. It said that the judicial system has failed since the coup and that the legal system is being used to arbitrarily detain revolutionary group members and prosecute people as part of personal feuds.

It also said that the group took care to make sure that no civilians were harmed in the attacks, though they refused to say what time the attacks took place for security reasons.
