Falam residents will demand seven points and Hakha residents will demand five points for regional development during the Vice President’s tour of the Chin State.

Vice President Henry Van Thio will observe regional development tasks in the Chin State on February 2 and the local residents of Falam and Hakha are planning to make these demands.

“We will demand [the government] to build four 60-ton bridges between Falam and Rih, to designate a township for Rih town, to recognize Webula as a town, set up border trading in Selawn Village, designate the road from Letlet to Kabani as a union highway, build a television sub-station in Tibual Village, and build a new 1,200-feet high bridge for Nebar Bridge,” said Pu Hrang Lawm, a community elder from Falam.

“We will demand an Institute of Sports and Physical Education for Hakha, a hospital wing for patients and medical specialists, and lands for technical college and midwifery training school,” said Pu Hrang Vung, a community elder from Hakha.

The Chin State Hluttaw Speaker Pu Zo Bawi said the Vice President will inspect the tasks carried out by the Chin State government.

“He will observe the completion rate of the Chin State government’s tasks and inspect the road upgrades,” said Pu Zo Bawi.

The Vice President will visit Kalaymyo, Falam, Hakha, Thantlang Township, Hnaring, Rezua, Matupi, Mindat, and Kanpetlet during his second tour to the Chin State.
