Drugs worth over Ks 70 billion seized in Kutkai

Drugs worth over Ks 70 billion have been seized in Kutkai in northern Shan State.

According to the Kutkai Anti-Narcotic Task Force, the anti-narcotic task force and local authorities seized over 30 million methamphetamine pills, 1,363 heroin blocks, 3,300 heroin bricks, and other drugs at the home of U Lauk Yaung in Kaung Khar Village under Kutkai Township at 8:30 am on January 17.

“They said the total value is over Ks 70 billion. Nobody was at home when the police came,” said Nan Lyan, a Kutkai resident, adding that there are too many drug users and traffickers in Kutkai.

The police seized the drugs after learning about the involvement with drug traffickers, who were arrested by the authorities at the Oriental Toll Gate in Theinni on January 16.

The latest seizure is the largest drug bust and the police are searching for the owner.
