Court to hear bail application of former chairman of Ayeyarwady Region assembly

The court has fixed a hearing for September 4 for the bail application submitted by former chairman of Ayeyarwady Region Legislative Assembly who is charged with section 409 (breach of trust) of Penal Code.

Defence attorney advocate Nay Lin Aung said, “The court said that they would give an order on this bail application only after hearing a medical expert and medical report.”

In this case, Ayeyarwady Region legislative assembly deputy director Zaw Lin Tun filed a case against former deputy chairman of assembly San Min Aung from Bogale constituency under section 409 (breach of trust) of Penal Code for procuring five vehicles to be used by the assembly.

The accused San Min Aung submitted this application on medical grounds claiming he was suffering from ischemic, fatty liver and pile diseases and was taking treatment at Pathein hospital for these diseases.

The prosecution indicted the accused with a charge sheet on August 22 at Pathein Township court under section 409 of Penal Code.
