Civilians Murdered By Burma Army In Mindat Township

The Burma Army (BA) killed two civilians and burnt their bodies along with a motorbike during an offensive against Chin resistance groups and civilians in Mindat Township.

Salai Yaw Mang, spokesperson for the Chinland Defence Force in Mindat, suspects that the civilians were abducted by BA troops on 27 December while they were traveling, but couldn’t say who they were.

The next day, the junta soldiers stayed in Shet village on a mountain near Mindat town.

On Tuesday, two more civilians were kidnapped by BA and forced to walk in front of their column on the way back to town.

From 17 to 26 December, two BA columns carried out 8 attacks on civilian resistance groups around Shitmwe, Ler Pan, Wumthu and Khwee Rein villages.

The CDF claimed to have killed 8 soldiers, including a captain, in the fighting, but Khonumthung News could not independently verify this information.
