Chin resistance coalition raids Hakha police station, frees 15 prisoners

The Chinland Defence Force – Hakha (CDF-Hakha), alongside allied resistance forces, stormed Myoma Police Station in Hakha, the capital of Chin State on October 16, and freed 15 prisoners.

The pre-dawn raid, carried out around 3:00 am, successfully met its objectives and freed 15 prisoners, according to Salai Htet Ni, spokesperson for the Chin National Front/Chin National Army (CNF/CNA). CDF-Hakha is part of the CNF/CNA alliance.

“The fighting started around 3:00 am. We stormed the Myoma Police Station and rescued 15 prisoners. Five junta soldiers were killed, and we lost one of our comrades. We’re still waiting for more details,” he told Chin World.

The attack was carried out by CDF-Hakha and Chinland Council (CC) forces, who also seized weapons. However, one CDF-Hakha member was killed during the raid.

On October 13, around 10:00 am, the junta launched an airstrike on a school in Vanha Village, Hakha Township, while students were in class, killing an 8-year-old boy and a 12-year-old girl, and injuring 21 others, including 2 critically.

Previously, in July 2024, CDF-Hakha raided Hakha Myoma Police Station and freed 62 prisoners, consisting of 49 men and 13 women.
