Bomb explodes near to Yangon Courthouse

A bomb exploded near the Kyimyindaing Courthouse in Yangon at about midday on 23 March, according to a local resident who spoke to Mizzima.

According to the resident, the bomb exploded in a rubbish bin in Shwe Hlaing Street, one lamp post away from the Kyimyindaing Courthouse.

“We heard that one person was injured but we don’t yet know if they were a civilian or military personnel,” said the resident.

At around 2:00 p.m. junta soldiers shut off Shwe Hlaing and Malzalipin streets and used seven vehicles to carry out a search of the area.

No resistance force has claimed responsibility for the blast and there has been no confirmation as to whether there were any casualties.
