A three-year-old died after being struck by a military vehicle from Danyawaddy naval base in Simaw village, Arakan State. Kyaukphyu Myoma Police Station confirmed that Pwint Nadi Maung, daughter of U Kyaw Swar Min from Simaw village, died yesterday.

An anonymous official from the police station told the Narinjara News: “It was an accident that happened while the vehicle from Danyawaddy naval base was being pushed after it broke down. The nameplate of the military vehicle is R-5002. It was driven by LCpl Aung Ko Latt.”

After the military vehicle that was carrying chaff from Kyaukphyu Danyawaddy naval base broke down it was pushed to restart the engine. At some point the driver lost control of it killing the young girl.

The Kyaukphyu Police Station has opened a case against Aung Ko Latt for reckless driving and manslaughter.

At the time of press Narinjara News was unable to reach anyone from Simaw village for further details.
