Activists demand release of Win and Zaw

Activists from the nationalist movement demanded the release of two men, Zaw Lin and Wai Phyo AKA Win Zaw Tun, who are on death row in Thailand for murder.

In the case, two Britons, David Miller and Hannah Witheridge were found dead at Sairi beach on Koh Tao Island in Thailand in 2014 and Thai police arrested Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Tun after investigation. They were charged with murder, rape and theft and the Koh Samui trial court finally sentenced them to death on December 24, 2015.

Last week, Thailand’s Supreme Court rejected the final appeal of the two men.

The demonstration was held in front of Maha Bandoola Square on September 2 and they sent a mercy petition to His Majesty the King of Thailand.
