Groups of Moulmein university students are glued to foreign radio stations,--  BBC, VOA, RFA and DVB Burmese service to listen to broadcasts about the on going protests in Burma even though their examinations begin tomorrow.

They are found grouped in front of the university tea shop listening to the radio.

"We enjoy listening to the news. After students crowded the tea shops the authorities cut off electricity supply. When the students dispersed, the electricity was back. After which the students regrouped," a student told IMNA.

"Many students are unhappy about the power cuts. Many said that they would protest outside the power distribution office," he added.

Members of the former Moulmein University students’ organization said that they will join the demonstrations by monks if the government did not release all 88 generation student leaders and reduce the price of fuel and essential commodities.

Although policemen and soldiers patrolled the university campus yesterday, the students were unfazed.
