Mya Wun Yan — All the external advanced ballots sent to Taunggyi’s Polling Station No 5 at BEHS (7) in Sao San Tun Ward, Shan State this morning were for a candidate from the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) said an anonymous source involved with counting ballots.

Glue on the ballot envelopes was allegedly still wet when the ballots were being counted and all the votes for U Sai Zaw Zaw, a Lower House candidate for the USDP said the source.

According to U Tin Maung Toe, NLD candidate, these external ballots were allegedly first sent to the polling station when they should have been directly sent to the Township Commission at 2 pm this afternoon.

According to Township Sub-Commission’s chairman, the ballots were from the Myanmar Armed Forces East Command.

“The Township Commission chairman said they were wrong sent [to the polling station]. When we asked him via telephone on whether or not he accepted the arrival of the external ballots at the ward and village office, he said no. But those ballots were sent to the Township Commission afterward,” said U Tin Maung Toe.
